Her career in journalism began with Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and news reporter at WPDE-TV. Then, she joined WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reports about the relaxed approach police take to DUI cases resulted in the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in State authorities issuing an even more strict directive on DUI cases. Ms. O'Dell was honored by her colleagues at the Associated Press with the Best Report of the Year Awards to all media South Carolina. Following her work in Charleston O'Dell worked as a anchor, co-anchor, and investigative reporter for NBC's Miami station WTVJ-TV prior to joining Access Hollywood as a weekend anchor as well as a weekday correspondent. As well as her role as anchor on Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also an anchor for NBC News' Today and as well for Dateline NBC. She's covered the Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted several Pre-ShowArrivals Shows in preparation for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. She has also hosted The Miss America Pageant as well as the Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
